Upgrade to Vegas 4.0(+DVD)

Having seen the pricing for the upgrade, it is nice to see the introductory pricing, but I am dissapointed that during this period there is no further discount for VF users upgrading. I.e. the price for VV4+DVD is the same $499, for both VF upgrades and non-upgrades.

It seems like SF could give some further concession to VF users. What do others think?

I think they've made a commercial decision, just as I would have done. SF don't owe me anything - it may be in their interest to keep me sweet, but that's their call.

I agree.....Especially being Ulead and others Have DVD rendering and burning for $30. If SF is not going to include these features in VF or offer patches / upgrades, VV+DVD should be a bargain. Even if it is $80 off, which was the cost of VF Plus the SVCD plugin. MAny other software upgrades do this all the time. Photoshop is just one of the top of my head that has this type of offer. the_ripper

Actually, the price for Vegas 4+DVD on the web site is $599 until March 15 so if you can get a VF upgrade for $499 that’s still $100 cheaper. I upgraded from VideoFactory to Vegas 3 in July for $199. Now I can upgrade to Vegas 4+DVD for $299. So technically if you add the $199 I paid just 7 months ago to the $299, I’m paying $499 to upgrade from VideoFactory to Vegas 4+DVD as well.

BTW, You can get the full version Vegas 4+DVD from www.rsvp.ca for $439 or for $449 at Safe Harbor (www.sharbor.com). So, unfortunately, you can get a better deal by not upgrading from SoFo.

jr,

Yes, until March 15th VV4+DVD is $499... but my point is that it is the same $499 for VF users as for someone with no SF app.

If SF even made a small extra discount for VF users (e.g. the $80 off the_ripper suggested) I would be much more likely to buy it.
