upgrading e8400 to q9300

How much of a difference do you think it will make in rendering speed? Im rendering a sd video that has been color corrected, neat video filter and sound soap noise reduction to a wmv file. Its taking 5x real time, will going quad speed it up. your thoughts?

all things being equal ( this includes any plugs you're using making full use of your cores ), you should see a 30-50% increase, all things being equal of course.

so to the question of, will it increase the speed? yes, I'm sure it will as long as your plugs can utilize all 4 cores, with regards to how much it will increase the speed, it has a lots of variables.
