Here is my experience: Your VEGAS AUDIO is a seperate program.
I called tech support with some of the same questions i.e "do I
uninstall PRO 1st, what if I already have fx1,2,3", etc.
the answer was, if you wanted to you could have both programs at once
[I purchased the "downloadable version-upgrade"}I thought that the
UPGRADE would "PATCH" my version of PRO to the new AUDIO, but all I
ended up doing was downloading the demo, as directed in an email from
S.F ,[it also contained my activation code for AUDIO,] installed it,
fired up the program, and entered the email provided activation code.
Tech informed me that a VEG. PRO file opened and SAVED in AUDIO would
be unopenable thereafter in PRO, Which is not a problem since I
planned on uninstalling PRO, which I did.
One thing though,
when installing AUDIO, I chose the CUSTOM install, and chose not to
install the onboard F.X [fx1,2,3]
After uninstalling PRO, all of my projects would give an error
message stating that the TRACK EFFECTS did not load properly, with
the option to continue without.
I solved this by uninstalling AUDIO, and when reinstalling, I then
chose the DEFAULT FULL INSTALL, problem solved.
All of my directories and presets have remained intact, I created a
backup folder with all of the original project files and media, just
to be on the safe side, but it was not nessasary.
THANKS SONIC FOUNDRY !! THIS PROGRAM ROCKS =}

I did the default install of VA2.0a from CD, directing install to
same dir as VP1.0b. First time run of VA, enter S/N from 1st page of
VA manual. Second time run, start up internet connection, click on
register, prog interacts with SF, poof, you're registered. No
numbers to cut/paste as in the past.

Let's not get all warm and fuzzy about this ... most of the long time
forum participants appreciate, tolerate, or ignore "difference of
opinion" quite nicely. The escalation of "difference of opinion" into
personal abuse, particulary the recent abuse of forum members names,
ceases to be "difference of opinion" and is inexcusable ... you might
as well be using my checkbook or my wife.

Nuff said ... and keep in mind that this is a "differing" opinion. :)

KAC ...

I agree until the miss use of hurting other users who have legitament
questions are thrown off track by gibberish answers to their posts.Or
using peoples names.A 13 year old child I expect that from.not an
adult or PROffesional!
Nuff said.

Sorry, Dave and Karl, I am afraid Victor has been up to his old
tricks. Rick Johnson and John McCormack are Victor aliases. They have
been removed.
