Upgrading to 5b

Need help I replaced my power supply and had to reload Vegas 5 and now it will not upgrade to 5b it makes it to the part where it says "now publishing" then it come back with cannot something ico backing out of set setup retry again to run setup. I've tried it lease 3 times same thing. (it said something about windows installer it didn't do that with 5a)

If there's a Sony Setup folder under Program Files on your C: drive you should delete everything in in (at least everything related to Vegas) before you reinstall. The installer will sometimes skip a few files if they are present in that folder.

You didn't mention which Windows OS you use.
If it's other than Windows XP you propably need to download from Microsift the Windows Installer 2.0 for your OS.

Thanks I tried cleaning out the sony setup folder same thing still happens and my OS is XP Pro with SP1

Is the error you are receiving about the Windows installer the following?
"The Windows Installer Service Could Not Be Accessed"

If so this error is in the Vegas 5 knowledgebase and suggests:
"Follow the instructions available in this Microsoft knowledge base article, as they would also work when encountering the same error message in our software".

Hope it helps but if it is not this case try to note down the exact error messages you receive during install.
