Upgrading to 8.0 - Is it worth it?

I have been using 7.0c for about a year now and things are going "ok" so far. What I mean by "ok" is there are a couple of little things that bother me like not having the option for "underlune" when doing text.

I have been reading online about Vegas Pro 8.0 but don't know if it's worth upgrading so I want to ask the community. What are your thoughts? Is it worth the $250?

I believe the upgrade price is in the $130 to $150 price range if you shop around.

What I am looking for is it worth it for the new features that Vegas Pro 8.0 provides? Sony did not provide any specific details from the video editor's point-of-view.

You could download the demo and decide for yourself.

Honestly, "is it worth it" threads almost always seem rather pointless to me. You're going to get a bunch of people who find it totally worth it and a bunch of people who wish they hadn't bothered. Then it's up to you to decide who you believe and whose needs are most similar to yours. (Meanwhile, the "totally" group and the "don't bother" group are going to start butting heads and telling each other that their expectations are too low / high. Yay, fun.)

You are always the best judge of whether or not a piece of software is appropriate for your needs. So if you can have 30 days to play with the software at no charge (which you do), go for it.

Unfortunately, not all the websites that carry the Upgrade Version of Vegas Pro 8 disclose that you must have Vegas 6 or 7 in order to install the upgrade. If he doesn't, he wasted his money. And some charge more like $200 for it too.
