uprez plug-ins?

OK I am not trying to go SD to HD. but I have a fair amount of footage where crew members are in the shot and the footage is P2 720 but most of project is P2 1080 and the project settings are 1080.

so I am zoom-cropping crew members out of some shots which works but it degrades the 720 footage a bit too much. would an uprez plug-in work for this?

any good ones that work in vegas?

I use the one that came with Boris BCC-7. It only works with progressive video, but it works really well for that.

the footage is progressive but it is being used in an interlaced project, wonder if that would work?

I'm not sure why you think that it only works with progressive video but it does support interlace video too.

When you think about it's purpose (i.e., to scale SD video to HD) and the fact that 99.99% of all SD video is Interlaced... it would be quite a useless tool if it did not support interlaced video.

Even if it had this limitation, you could drop BCC Deinterlace before it in the FX chain and it would work equally as well but there is no need for that. UpRez is designed to handle both interlaced and progressive video.

You are not going to make cropped and uprezzed video look as good as the original. Sophisticated uprezzing tools only make marginal not dramatic improvements over standard methods.

Did you watch the training video on Boris TV and follow the steps? You need to adjust the crop to match the project and you must set the video to square pixels. Then select Magic Sharp and increase the sharpness slider accordingly. You can watch it here:

yes as mentioned i am just asking too much in uprez + crop where just cropping is less altered to begin with

moreover...plugin devs who write for vegas are kind of out of luck because vegas remains so unstable that the consideration of any add-ons always tempered by potential crash factor...
