URGENT: Can I do this with MovieStudio?

Hi,

I'm considering to purchase MovieStudio, however I just want to check whether it supports this scenario:

I have several digital stills and some video clips. I want to edit these together in a slideshow where I need to fade in/out the video sound (edit volume) and also add background music. I assume that there would be no problem achieving this ;-)

Now when I want to run the slideshow I want to do it in full-screen mode from my computer and manually enter a key to jump from each slide/video clip to the next. Is this possible? Thanks for hints on how to do this also (I'¨m in a hurry for a particular presentation ;-)

Thanks a bunch if someone has time to answer this

best regards

Tor

Yes, you can definitely produce a video of your stills and video clips to watch on your computer with MS.

Producing it with some sort of navigation so you can jump from clip to clip is really not the kind of thing video editing programs do, though. (Well, you can create chapter points if you make a DVD, but that's a whole other animal.)

Flash and Director are challenging (and rather pricey) programs that can do what you want. (Director is used to program the navigation on CD-ROMs.) You may also be able to program HTML to do this. But, no, MovieStudio won't that I know of.

Sounds like a Power Point presentation would be better suited to your needs IMHO.

That would be my suggestion to. You could embedd the videos in the presentation and call them up as needed.

PowerPoint is an excellent solution. I wish I'd thought of it.

But here's a some bonus points: If you don't already own PowerPoint or Microsoft Office, check out Open Office (at www.openoffice.org).

This is an open source program that is absolutely free and can do virtually anything Office can do -- including read and write Word, Excel and PowerPoint! It's an excellent program, and I've been nothing but thrilled with the results.
