URGENT: Does Device Manager import to a TEMP location and then copy?

Hi!

I'm hoping to salvage a missing media file -- does anyone know if Device Explorer imports (and assembles) media files to a temporary location before copying them to the target location?

I noticed my C drive User Documents Folder growing and found an Imported Media folder with imported files. This is even though I have designated a Documents folder on a different drive in Windows File Explorer properties (Location tab).

Perhaps there is a default location for Device Explorer imports that can be specified in Vegas. If anyone can please help clarify that would help us.
