US2 slows down during multicam of long piece?

have about 3hrs45 on timeline. V7, US2. As more command markers have been placed on the timeline, the insertion of the markers has slowed down, to where it takes about 2-4 secs to insert one. playback pauses etc, while Vegas does its thinking

is this common?

if so, any ways to increase speed? Not in the market for US3 right now. Don't know if Excalibur does it any differently, efficiency-wise.

I don't think it's Vegas slowing down, more likely the script has more to process as you add more markers.

When developing Excalibur, I did notice a slowdown as more markers were added *IF* the tallys were also completely updated. Therefore, I set in a point where less than so many markers and the tallys would be fully updated, above that and you would have to MANUALLY update them if you moved or deleted a marker. So, yes, it is normal but I worked around it by not updating them all after a certain (adjustable) point.
