USB-2 laptop drive enclosure problem

I just bought a couple of cheap USB-2 enclosures for 2.5" laptop hard
drives. In these I mounted a couple of new Hitachi/IBM 4200 RPM 80 gig
drives. They work fine with my desktop but spontainiously disconncect
themselves every so often from my laptop. I know that what is happening is
that they are requiring a little more power from my laptop's USB bus than it
has to give. I have a 30 gig drive mounted in one of these enclosures and
it works great. A 5200 RPM 60 gig IBM won't work at all.

My question is what is a good drive with the most space that I can use
reliably in a self-powered USB 2.5 enclosure?
