USB capture software

Hi there, I just wanted to inform other users of Vegas pro v15, of a solution. Vegas included capture software can't handle USB cameras for recording. But I managed to do recordings with a Microsoft Lifecam cinema HD, in avi 720x576. I replaced the default capture software, with NCH Software "Debut". It'a cheap old USB camera, but I still get decent results.😊

Hello.. Maybe you can explain a little more as I am interested in this..  You say you " Replaced" the capture software. I would be interested to know how you did this and see it appear in the Vegas Capture Selection ..  Thanks

I don't have VP15 on my Surface Pro here at work but I have SVP13 and it works fine with all the cameras on the Surface and a Logitech too.

Hello matt-nice 😊 I could see the preview picture with Vegas own capture software. But I got a violation error message, and capture software crashed, when I pressed "done". If you open option/preferences, and select "video" folder, you will find the option " use external video capture application" Browse for another capture software in your computer, and select that one and press apply. That did the trick for my webcam. You will also have to select a working video format for Vegas pro. I selected ".avi" BTW: I also have Vegas pro 13 in my computer, and this trick solved the same camera bug there as well! (they use the same capture software as default)

Hi... Thanks for the information. I never looked at that option before as I thought it was Firewire only for capture. Much appreciated..  Time now to experiment..
