USB Hard Drive problem

A client has his media files on a 400 GB Western Digital USB portable drive (the popular "My Book" drive). Supposedly they are AVI files off a Mac system.

Running XP S2, Explorer sees the WD device as two replacable media drives. When I attempt to open one, it prompts me to insert a vaild media disc. So no data for me there.

The device claims to not need installation software, and I couldn't find anything about this issue on the Western Digital site (I did query them but have yet to receive a reply).

Has any else run into this situation?

thanks - jc

This problem was solved by software from MediaFour.com that allows PCs to read Mac drives. In this case the drive was filled with QuickTime files. VMS 7 had no problem importing them.
