USB2 vs Firewire Connections

I just purchased the Sony DRX 530A UL external DVD burner. It can connect to either a USB or firewire port, both of which are available on my computer. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which connection will be the most efficient? I could not seem to find this issue in previous posts. Thanks.

Given the choice, I would connect via firewire. USB shares more resources.

If you have onboard firewire or USB 2, i'd recomend getting something not on board (a seperate USB or firewire card). The onboard ones are good, but use the more system recourses (and if you have lots of usb/firewire stuff going at once, then they can stu-tter whlie all accessing the same chip). :)

I second jetdv's recommendation of Firewire. CPU usage can be significant with USB2.0 because of its host dependence. IEEE1394 links should be used whenever possible.
