Use of Adobe Photoshop 2 causes Vegas 5 to crash?

Hi folks,

I know I must be doing something dumb here but the gist of it is this:

1) I've got Adobe Photoshop 2 and Vegas 5 installed on a 1 gigHz Dell 8400 w/ 1 gig of RAM, pentium 4, 120 gig hd. There is no problem at all with the speed of various operations in either application.

2) When I do something in Vegas 5 and either leave V 5 open, or close it, I can open Adobe P-shop 2, create jpeg files, etc. with no problem.

3) However, apres-Adobe if I then try to open V 5 it freezes and I get a "100% CPU usage" message. If I do things in this order, I must re-start the computer.

This is getting old! Does anyone recognize this problem (and no how to solve it)?

Best regards,

Lee

Photoshop Elements2? Not Photoshop CS?
If you've got Vegas set up to use all the RAM, and Elements is doing the same, you'll get a lockup.
Adobe has done some weird code-related things in CS that are affecting several apps. Since Elements 2 is the light version of CS, I'd expect they're similar issues. There are a few threads here, and on the Adobe site. Maybe check them?

Sounds a bit like the wowexec.exe problem to me. Look in the Task Manager when opening Vegas. Is the wowexec.exe running as a process? End that particular process and see what happens.
