In the video preview window (usually lower right) there is a icon of a 3.5 floppy. Pause the event on the frame you want and click that icon and it will allow you to save as JPG.

Capture the frame that you want to save by clicking on the Icon in the preview window that looks like a floppy. Note the directory that it is being saved as. You can then open it in any graphics program that will support the format.

fellas--i feel the need to elaborate
you wanna get a picture from a video
this IS DA WAY!!!
1) make sure preview screen is on BEST quality
2)make sure (display at project size is checked)--right click on preview screen to adjust this feature
3)project properties--change (interlace) to progressive scan
4) advanceed properties--change (deinterlace)-- to interpolate
5) finally--save timeline snapshot to file

make sure you change settings--in project properties to their normal settings after or you are screwed

this is how ya'll do it
i learned from many many many posts
:)

Sonicboom, you rule! I love it when someone takes the time to list the steps in detail. How many times have we read a condensed post and end up being frustrated. Is there a step-by-step manual out there somewhere? My biggest disappointment with Vegas is the lack of documentation.

You guys are the best. I tried it and it worked very well. Thank you so much. I made a post about alpha channel. Does anyone have any knowledge on this. Thanks again.
