Hi, does anyone have experience trying to use a video file from a standard cell phone video in Vegas? I want to do something relatively simple, just put a video with a .3g2 file extension in the Vegas timeline. Does anybody know how to do this?
Super by Erightsoft will do it. http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
You have to jump through hoops to get to the download page, but the software is legit.
.3g2 files usually open in Quicktime with or without renaming.
That alone does the original poster little good unless he has QT Pro, since the files (from my phones anyway) need to be transcoded to open for editing in Vegas.
The .3g2 files from either of my CDMA phones (LG and Samsung) are not encoded h.263, but with some Part 2 variant.
However, if they were encoded h.263, they would "probably" open in Vegas.
