Using a different transcoder

Say I want to use the Ligos transcoder for my project instead of the Main Concept one, do I have to first render my project to Avi before putting it in Ligos or can I tell Vegas to use the Ligos plugin?

If you purchased Vegas 2, and registered the Ligos encoder in Vegas, you can continue to use the Ligos encoder in Vegas 2 or 3 (just render as "MPEG").
