Using a green screen that has moving doors HELP!

I added a green screen that has moving doors that open. When I put my video clip in its own track above the green screen, the video clip can still be seen through the wall before the door opens up. Everything is meshing together. How do I make it so I can only see the video clip as the doors open?

Green screen works because it works within its own plane. To have the Doors 🚪 open and reveal your Video would require the GS not to be in its own plane. You're wanting to swap from a Planar to 3D or rather the reverse, from 3D to Planar. To use just GS for this I presently can't see how this would be achieved? I bet others will be scratching their heads to explain how. I can see how this would work with a Tracking Planar s/w or even the Vegas 3D. How about a simple Door transition - might not give you enough control.

Tell me, did you film the doors opening with a GS in the doorway?

Ah, got it! You need to control the effective area of the GS by adding a Mask or garbage matte. Once you control the effective area of the GS that should do the job. Why does this happen? There's enough in the door colour that is close to the colour of the GS or the foreground lighting or both.

If you could give me the GS and Doors I'd have a go and post you back the VEG. Interested?

Mmh, I'd say one part of the magic is to put the video into the track below the green screen clip, not above.

..... and put the Video on the lower track! 😅

That was my mistake in saying, but yes, I did have the video is a lower track. Sorry about that. And interestingly enough, I adjusted the threshold on the chroma keyer just enough that the layers don't overlap each other where you would see both of them at the same time. It works! Phew, got past that one! Thanks guys for taking the time!

Yup, that'll do it.
