Using a Midi Hardware Controller with VV

Can I use a midi hardware controller with vegas video? I know sound forge supports this. Mainly wish to use one for Start/Stop/Rec and using a jog wheel to move the bar around? Any suggestions or workarounds?

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm guessing audio midi controllers to be a no go at this point.
