Using Firewire Hard Drive for Capture Folder

Can this be changed? It looks like you have to use a local drive, but I want to use my Firewire. Any ideas?

My question is directed to the thread. What is all the talk about a 900/911 bridge? I don't understand what it is, why it should be necessary.

I capture regularly via SF's vidcap or Pinnacle Systems' capture facility to external firewire drives. Have not experienced any problems I can attribute to drive speed/compatiblity.

What is this bridge, why might it prove useful to me?
