Using outboard efx.

I only pray that I'm a good enough songwriter, because I
can't figure this out. What I'm trying to do is to send the
signal out of Vegas- via my RME Hammerfall 9652 + converter-
to my Lexicon MPX 1.

This was a previous post that I am having trouble
disseminating.

"You can add a Main bus and use it as an AUX bus/send.
Example...

- Set up you main outs to have 2 main busses. Each should
be assigned to a different harware output."

How can I set my main outs to two outputs?

- Assign all tracks main outputs to Bus A

I get that.

- Assign the tracks you want to montior using the multi
selector(pan) and assign them to Aux B.

Can't figure that out.

- You can set the Aux B send to pre or post fader (right
click on the fader when set to Aux B.)
- Set the send levels for the monitor mix for each track
- Set the overall level for the monitor mix in the Bus B
master fader.

I'm sorry, but I can't understand it. As plain as it might
seem, could someone try and reword it for a simpleton.

Thanks, Thomas.

Hi Thomas -
I'm not anywhere near Veags but I'll try to do it from memory... Once
you've set up how many busses your project has (alt-enter to get to
the Project Poperties pages - then go to audio and choose 2 or more
busses), you will see that each track now has a drop-down menu where
the pan level is. This happens as soon as you add FX or have more
than one buss. Click on it and you will see Aux1... up to the number
of busses you have (or something like that). So, those are your "FX
sends" out to other hardware. You can route those Aux outs to a
different buss and then route that buss to the MPX1 or whatever. Use
the pre volume option (right-click on the same place as the drop-down
menu) and then add envelopes to controll send levels and timing...

Good luck. I hope that helps.

Thanks again, Charles. But the problem now seems to be that if I
choose an aux for one track, all of the other tracks go to that aux
as well. I clearly will want to use different aux's for different
tracks. Could this be a bug? I only have 1.0a.

well, no, it actually looks lit they all go to that aux but in fact
they all just switch to the control for that aux. If you switch back
to pan, they all go back to pan. You don't have to apply any level to
the other tracks for that aux... Make sense? If you had an assignable
FX, you'd see the same thing when you pulled down the control for
that FX. You could then go to other tracks in the project an assign
the global volume for that FX for each track. Don't worry - it's not
what you think. You just have to get used to it.

Good luck. Hope that helps.
