Using the Tascam DM-24 with Firewire

Has anyone tried this yet? I just got the IF-FW/DM card for my DM-24. It allows a firewire connection between the console and my PC, essentially making the DM-24 the mother of all sound cards.

Here's the catch. According to the docs, it wants to be the only device on the firewire bus. So if I want to continue to do video capture via firewire, it looks like I'll need to spring for another firewire card for my PC. I'll have one for DV and one for the console.

Any thoughts?

You'll need another Firewire card. Tascam simply doesn't want it to share. They sent one to a DMN writer for review, and he tried daisy chaining it before and after other devices. Didn't stay stable.
