Using Themes

I have a dar project that I have exported as a theme. It has specific background properties and button properties. I want to apply this theme to the next DVD that I produce but when I try to insert a new mpg file as media into the theme the prog freezes up. How do you use a saved theme with specific background and designed buttons for a new mpg file.

With your menu page displayed in the Workspace, go to the File drop-down menu and select Export Menu as Theme.

The page's design will appear on your Themes panel and you can then apply it in any future project.

(Is this what you did?)

I'm not sure why opening a new project and bringing a new MPEG into it would lock up your program -- assuming you've got plenty of system resources, lots of free, defragmented space on your hard drive and you've installed the latest version of Quicktime.

We're gonna need more details. Generally speaking, there's nothing special about saving a theme and using it in a project. It should just work and always does for me.

What are the specs of this MPEG you're trying to insert? Where did it come from? If from Vegas, what settings did you use to encode it?

Are you able to bring that MPEG into a project that uses one of the default themes?

What kind of files did you use in the theme? Specifically, what format is the background? What else is part of that theme? Again, please be specific about the file formats and how they were used?

I see you're also the author of the post "missing help file." Were you able to resolve that issue? If not, my guess would be that something went wrong with your installation, and that is what is causing this problem as well. Simplest solution would be to reinstall. Or have you tried that already?

Ive found the problem of freezing. The mpg file I was trying to load was in the same folder as the TS version of the file and DVDA does not like going anywhere near TS files. Once I removed the TS file out of the target directory the mpg file loaded fine.
