Using Vegas Pro 20/Windows 10 and I need the AI Bundle for UPSCALING

Debbie-Whitmer wrote on 10/11/2024, 1:56 PM

I'm using Vegas Pro 20 and I went to the FX option and chose "Upscaling" and it says I need to install the AI Bundle. I do not understand why this AI Bundle was not included for the options I already have such as "Upscaling". Where do I get this AI Bundle?  Attached to my note is a screen shot of what I'm talking about. Will this AI Bundle mess up my Vegas Pro 20 which is working perfectly fine now? My computer system details are in my profile.  Thank you so much for your help. For some reason it's not letting me upload my .jpg snapshot file.

Here it is: VEGAS Deep Learning Models 20.5.0.0

It wont mess up anything and is necessary for all the AI features to work properly.

@Steve_Rhoden - Hi Steve. Thank you so much for responding; that was so nice of you! When I think about this, was this "Deep Learning Models" (it sounds familiar) already included in my Vegas Pro 20 EXE file that I purchased and I just didn't install it? I have installed Vegas Pro 20 on my Windows 10 system and I think, at the time, I just installed Vegas Pro 20 and that's all I installed due to other issues I was having in the past so I just wanted the basic Vegas Pro 20 installed and that was it. So therefore, if I were to execute my Vegas Pro 20 EXE file that I purchased, as you can pick what you want to install, would I see this "Deep Learning Models"?? The reason I ask is because I do not understand why there would be a separate EXE file for this "Deep Learning Models'. I hope you understand what I'm saying. I look forward to your reply.

No, you wont see an option to install the "Deep Learning Model" during installation. One of the reasons this was deliberately done, is to reduce the overall size of the installation file, making it easier and faster for customers to download..... ie: the Deep Learning Models are almost twice the file size of the Vegas Pro installer.

@Steve_Rhoden - Thank you so much for your help! What is confusing to me is that I looked at all my backups of the Vegas Pro 20 program and I do not see this EXE file that you gave me. It seems like I should have had it all along. Strange! lol I will go ahead and install what you gave me. And in case anything does go wrong, I did create a new restore point just in case. Thank again! I really appreciate your reply!

It might be worth knowing that a lot of new software particularly for photo and video applications have AI built in. Virtually all have separate AI models that require separate installation from the main program. One reason for this is that the AI models are under fast continuous development and are often updated more often than the base program versions, I also do Astro-video photography and many of the tools for gradient removal, noise reduction, deconvolution have AI options where the AI models are stored separately.
