Using video captured from another program

Pretty strange but i have the feeling that the video i captured using Pinnacle Studio won't work with Vegas. Looks like the video stream is locked , can't drag any transitions into it and effects are applied to the whole stream and not the part that i have chosen.

Any suggestions

Which pinnacle device/software did you use?

I captured my DV content directly into the FW port on my audigy2 , this was made with Pinnacle studio 8

I use Studio 7 with firewire, all files transfer back and forth between Vegas and Pinnacle fine. What type of effects are you trying to apply?

Maybe go through the steps and see if someone sees a problem.

OK here it goes:

1: open vegas
2: click on new project and select a new project by default
3:Open my video file
4:right-click on the video timeline and put it in the trimmer

finally

5:try to select a transition by dragging it into the timeline but the cursor still lookes like it can't

....

What do you guys think
