As Reason's nnxt sampler only plays the factory or other pre-recorded soundbanks or samples in various formats, to achieve full sampler status in the traditional sense one can use Vegas or Soundforge to record your own wav. files for nnxt use.
But beyond creating single or multi-layered samples in Vegas to be played back in the nnxt, triggered by your midi controler, you can also load a complete track(eg. a vocal or guitar track). This means that all of the parameter controls of the nnxt are available for your Vegas sample or track-(only the Global editing controlls are available for automation).
So, in the remote panel editor browse to V5 or soundforge to obtain the wav. you have just recorded and open it. The sample or even full track wav. will appear in the c3 position in the keyboard area. Then go to key edit view lane of the sequencer track you have created for the nnxt and draw in a note for a sample ,or a line of notes for a full track, in the c3 lane.
Then when you hit play, and now we will talk about a full track, your V5 track will play back. It gets interesting when you apply an RV3000 reverb unit, perhaps in conjunction with a Scream distortion unit and/or other Reason modules.
This is how you can use V5 to make the nnxt a complete sampler (or track with rack effects player).
But this is only the beginning of how to make V5 and Reason better programs. It gets alot more interesting! More to follow...
