Nope. I dont think Sony has any plans of opening their DV codec to other apps either.

What kind of problem are you having with Vegas 6 and DV files generated with the Main Concept DV codec and Virtual Dub?

I use it all the time, the only thing I do is make sure that the audio interleave in Virtual Dub is set to 250 ms. Vegas doesn't seem to particularly like it set to every frame, which is the VDub default.

What's the problem?
In V5 I the video (MC DV) was recognized as "native", thus played back from the timeline with no recompressing.
In V6 it's no longer native. The DV codec to produce the smoothest playback without having to render is Canopus.
I find this a very serious drawback of version 6.0, but hope there is a workaround.

Seems I've found a good solution. It works great - just the way I wanted it to... The compatibile codec is also of Japanese origin, which should make you guess what I mean...
