V-Video - output to external Video ?

Hi, How can I view my video on an external monitor using
the Vegas Video Demo ? I have an OHCI compatible 1394
video card (Dynalink) and capturing and editing works great
and the camera is recognised by the capturing prog, but I
can't seem to get it back to the camera for
previewing/recording from the timeline. (My camera is DV-
in enabled) I think I have tried all the possibilities but
it is always possible I have overlooked something. When I
use the capture prog to view the recorded file it doesn't
work either.
Thanks.

This sounds like you have some incorrect settings. The project
template for dv output should be "NTSC DV". Rendering a file for
print-to-tape should also be using the "NTSC DV" template. It's
possible you are rendering as uncompressed-

Also, make sure you are using 2.0a- we addressed some field-order
problems in that update from 2.0.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply but still no succes. BTW I live in Belgium,
Europe so I'm using the PAL DV - settings. As I said I tried every
possible setting in the program but I can't get the signal back to my
camcorder. I've tried the program with 3 DV cards (Pinnacle DV300 -
Studio DV and a cheap Dynalink 1394 OHCI compliant card) but no luck.
The capturing and editing works fine but I can't record it.
Any suggestions ?

Hi, did you ever get Vegas working ?
I also have tried 3 firewire cards ( RT2000/Studio DV/cheap unbraded
thing..) all runnung under Windows 98/98se/ME/Win2KPro... but still
no joy.
I can get the SF capture program to work fine but nothing will
preview on an external monitor !

My camcorder is a PAL DVin enabled Sony PC1e ( I have also tried a
PC4 and PC100... )

If anyone know a solution please help.

PS I have checked every setting available
Cheers
