V13 Loudness Meters Question

Till V13, I've been using the Tone Boosters Loudness plug-in with good success (also works in SF). The loudness meters in V13 seem to work well enough (I get the same results with either). However, there is one problem in the V13 loudness meters. Once play "stops", the results disappear, unlike Tone Boosters which continues to display the current readings. So unless you remember the final numbers when play stops, you're out of luck. Perhaps there is an option somewhere that I haven't seen. Anyone else observed this?

Doesn't it generate a LOG file?

It does if you click the log file menu option.

wwaag, how are you stopping playback? If you stop via Stop or Pause buttons (Space or Enter) then the numbers should persist in the UI until you seek or play again. If they don't, I'd like to hear some steps to reproduce because it would be a bug (it was a bug during beta, but I fixed it back in March). Or maybe you've got a plugin that's causing a seek and wiping out the data??

As Grazie says, you can get a persistent loudness report via "Tools > Generate Loudness Log" or via the new option on the Render As... dialog.

That was the problem. I still had the TB Loudness plug-in on the Master bus. Once removed, all is well.

This is really a nice feature and a big time saver. Render the audio and immediately have the loudness results--unlike "playing" the file in SF and waiting till the end for the results.

Thanks so much for the reply.

In Sound Forge 11, you can go to "Tools" > "Statistics" and it will scan the file quickly and give you the loudness stats.
