I just installed VP13 Build 444 on my brand new i7 Pro 3 and it runs fine. I know it's a new install but try to use the reset method at start; CTRL+SHIFT.

Thanks OldSmoke - good to know it's possible even if mine doesn't work. Mine's also the i7.

I tried the CTRL+SHIFT - same result. It is something to do with the Graphics card - at the same time that the splash screen locks up on "Initializing GPU accelerated video processing", I get a temporary window open at the bottom of screen saying "Display driver stopped working and has recovered"

Do you have latest updates, drivers and firmware installed? Mine just did a firmware update yesterday.

Hey OldSmoke, thanks - I had also sent a message to Support and they asked me to save and send them a SI (System Information) file.

With the help of your post I anticipated their next reply and did a Windows update (92 updates) this morning, and am happy to report that V13 now opens.

Thanks again. Now to solve some other Surface Pro newbie questions, such as - why, after I downloaded and installed Office 365 yesterday it doesn't appear anywhere and I can't find and open it!

Edit - solved!

Going slightly off topic, how does the surface pro perform in Vegas preview wise? Are you guys using video files on a network share or usb drive etc?

Still early days - haven't tried much yet, but just connected a USB drive for a test.

HD on its own played at full frame rate at Best/Full, but slowed down a few fps with overlay track - back to full frame rate at Preview/Auto.

More later. One thing I've found hard is opening a title and having a very small space for text - maybe some settings need tweaking.
