v18 Crash on Exit

sakendrick wrote on 8/10/2021, 9:44 AM

Since one of the first updates on v18, almost every time I exit Vegas it crashes. I always send my reports, even logged a ticket with support, no help. I think I've commented on a few posts here about my experience, but seeing if once and for all I can try to get this corrected. I've followed all the normal fixes for crashes. Thankfully, I don't lose any work, but I am tired of getting the crash notice and when it does so it won't save any previous set settings. Here are some details if it means anything to anyone. And attached graphics hardware/driver info.

Why not update that NVIDIA driver?

sakendrick wrote on 8/18/2021, 10:07 PM

I certainly can/will, but this has been happening for a long time even prior to that more recent NVIDIA driver update. I regularly keep them up to date based on what Vegas tells me, and this issue has been happening regardless.

Confirming - I updated the driver and the crash is still happening as it always does. Any insight into the logs posted on what might be going on?

Your logs show Style Transfer and Colorization as issues - these are both AI plugins via the Deep Learning Models, and thus require a modern computer to function properly.

Does your computer meet the minimum specifications for Vegas Pro 18?

These are the Vegas Pro 19 specifications and, from memory, are either the same or very similar to the Vegas Pro 18 minimum specifications, both of which have higher hardware requirements that Vegas Pro 17 and earlier.

btw - is there a way to turn of style transfer and colorization while I do the bulk of my editing?

sakendrick wrote on 9/3/2021, 4:40 PM

It's also crashing constantly now... not just on exit but normal editing. I've done several projects in the past without issues but must be latest build.

sakendrick wrote on 9/10/2021, 10:37 AM

still experiencing this - recent crashes have provided a link to "solve" the problem. The link, brings me to an older build of Vegas... I used it for a while but still had crashes and was constantly asked to upgrade, so I upgraded again. I sent the link and logged a ticket with Vegas, but my experience with their support has been terrible. So... we'll see
