so after my catastrophic V22 situation with the total crashes while editing and the render crashes, I had to port the whole project to 21 to continue working and to be able to render at all.
The deadline approaches and my patience is increasingly wearing off.
That said, there now is a new bug happening in V21. When rendering the 4k project to HD, V21 sometimes picks the upper left quarter instead of downscaling the whole frame.Worse, it does it randomly, meaning some renders are fine, others not, for absolutely no reason at all.
Pic one is the whole frame . Pic 2 is the render.
V21 also has weird HEVC behaviour - a series of HEVC DJI 4k drone .mov clips are played back fine the first time, the second time V21 slows down and chokes to 5fps and almost grinds to a halt. Same thing happens in the trimmer. And then suddenly, it plays back almost fine again. It doesn't seem to make any sense.
I knows we're not supposed to rant here - I have always been and still am a fervent Vegas user and defender, but the amount of dysfunction I encountered in the last 4 weeks is just seriously annoying and a real poblem for my job.
I've sent dozens of bug reports about various issues, they all seem to vanish into some black hole.
It also seems it's not about BCC anymore, it's constant, differing crash reports with different descriptions each time, from kernell.dll to svfx module fault to BCC to you name it. I've even tried to decipher some of them with AI and followed all possible troubleshooting tips it gave me, but no change.
And even in V21, I have to open it and render asap without touching anything for it to render without issues. Any work in V21 before the rendering is potential trouble. But at least it renders. If anyone told me to get a new graphics card or what ever, I'd do it instantly if only it solved the problem. I just want to work without constant issues..
So if anyone has a solution for at least this reframe render issue, I'd be grateful.
