V4 Advance Capture acting strange

Randy Brown wrote on 6/24/2003, 10:58 AM
Hi all,
I can't figure out why, after logging in/out on a tape I can't batch capture (batch capture button is greyed out). Also, whenever I minimize Capture and then try to bring it back up I get the error " The device Microsoft DV Camera and VCR could not be opened..."
This one is not a big deal since the workaround is to go back to V4 and click Capture Video but just curious. It's a Canon XL1S if that helps.
TIA,
Randy

Is Enable Device Controls checked?

Hey Jet,
Yes, and it's controlling it fine and it's logging everything fine ...but for some reason "batch capture" is greyed out.
Thanks Jet,
Randy

And you DID press Log In/Out for each clip segment so they show up below in the bin window? And they have a little red dot in them?

I wrote about capturing video Here - including batch capturing.

Yes

>>And they have a little red dot in them?<<

Come to think of it, no, they didn't (as usual) but when I right-clicked them individually, "remove from batch capture" was an option (not greyed out like the previously captured clips were).

>>I wrote about capturing video Here - including batch capturing.<<

When I went there I got:
"The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."

Thanks again Jet,
Randy

Oops, left out the "http://" - it's edited and should work now.

If you remove it from the batch, can you then add it back to be batch captured? All I have ever done is:

1. pick the tape name
2. change the clip name
3. type in or select in and out points
4. click on Log In/Out
5. repeat 3 & 4 as needed
6. click on Batch Capture.

It sounds like that is exactly what you are doing.

Yes, I'm doing it exactly that way but the red dot doesn't appear as usual. I went ahead and captured the whole tape because I have a deadline but I'll mess with it later. It's gotta be something petty I'm overlooking because it was working fine before today.
Thanks again Jet,
Randy
