V4+DVD Sound Card

I recently purchased the box V4+DVD package and have been testing the demo for a few weeks. I have a Philips Seismic Edge (PSC705) 5.1 sound card, and am wondering if is designed to work with V4. I'm having a difficult time getting the LFE channel to display, and I've read about ASIO support (which I don't think my card has). Question is, do I need to get another sound card, such as the M-Audio Revolution 7.1? Has anyone used this card with V4? I'm a hobbyist on a budget, but I'm willing to shell out $100 or so on a better sound card. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I think you've been using the BETA for a few weeks. Did you try downloading the demo from the downloads section? It might be a different build, therefore what you're experiencing might have been resolved in a newer build.
Worth a try to look.
On your V4, check the start-up screen to see what build it is. Then go to the downloadable demo page for V4 to see if it's a more recent build.

You are correct...I meant BETA. I'll try the most recent demo and see if it works with my current card. Thanks.

There was an earlier post saying the Sound Blaster Audigy (a fairly inexpensive card) has the ASIO support needed to use the 5.1 audio.

Be careful about Sound Blaster. If you can, get a more pro audio solution. They really aren't that much more expensive anymore.

Has anyone tried the M-Audio Revolution 7.1 sound card with V4? Would this be a "more pro audio solution"?

I would say M-Audio is more Pro. At least I think they would be more "audio" oriented instead of "gaming" oriented in Creative's case.
Just my ¢¢.
I'd get the M-Audio, myself. They have great products overall, that kind of attitude trickles down to lower end products as well, I'm sure.

ive just found some excellent drivers(not creative authorised) for my creative live 5,1 soundcard, this enable me to use my card for the 5.1 without any problems whatsoever

you can download the drivers here

http://come.to/sblive

have a look on their website and see if your card is supported with their drives, if it is, then your laughing:>)
works a treat
