V4 Flyin Movie Intro - Critiques? Lemme Have it..

Appreciate your folks' thoughts on this 14-second fly-in movie with audio and PIP... done in Vegas 4....

(8 megs, 14 seconds)

It's the lead-in to a 8 minute "netformercial" I'm working on in post...

What can I do to improve it? Anything jarring/out of place/ stuff I should fix?

for example, should the 2 PIPs be moving? I'm thinking of adding a 3rd, and having the whole chain slide in from left to right ... I just didn't want too much motion since it's overlaying a moving background ... didn't want it to be too busy..

Anyways, appreciate your comments - let me know what you'd do differently...

thanks much,

ken

And how about this one, streaming at www.MegaSeminar.com ?

A third PIP in the center might be nice, don't know about the moving though.
If you were going to have them scrolling across you would need more than 3, but it might work.

Didn't care for the sound "thunk" for the text and the line appeariing. Maybe a different sound or drop the volume on it.

The transition in the left PIP was distracting - had to watch several times to see what was going on. Kept seeing something in the corner of my eye.

Have you considered not bring in the PIP's so soon? Let the titles finish and then bring in the PIP's. The page curle is distracting on the left PIP. I do like the overall look.

I like the city fly through and the graphics, but if you want to use the PIP footage then I would raise the type slightly above center screen to give the PIP a little breathing room and allow them to look like they belong there and weren't just added as an after-thought.

You might also consider grabbing a bunch of static's of each presenter (or more of these two guys) and doing a montage of static "cut-outs" below the graphic text. They can be brought in "from camera" and stacked...

I've done a mockup using grabs from your video. Of course, the guys are very low res now because they are so small in the current video.

Hey thanks Jim, others - you've given me some terrific ideas/feedback...much appreciated! I'll work on integrating all of your tips into the final post work .. thanks so much -- always nice to have others helping ... I'm new to this NLE stuff, never did it til last fall ... so all comments much appreciated...

i like the photo-over jim, thx for the mockup.. and good ideas re titling changes for pips.. what I'm thinking is, agree re delay pip in for a bit, and will use 5-7 and crop them so they're more letterbox/stylistic, vs 4:3 boxy look... sleeker pip scroll...
