V5 Network Render "Failed to not add Peer:"

I have finally gotten the sony vegas network render service to work on my 2 computers but as I follow the directions from the v5 help it states

"Click the Host box of a blank row in the table, and then type the IP address or name of the computer you want to use as a renderer. "

When I type in the name I get the following error:

"Failed to not add Peer:
The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for"

I have searched the forum and have not found this same error message. Please help

This problem is related to how your network is set up. Can you ping
that machine by name? A work-around is to enter the IP address of the
machine rather than the host name. Another work-around is to set up
your hosts file but these options are not ideal if you're using DHCP.

I endered in the IP address and it worked fine. You said these options are not ideal. Why and what should I do to have the "ideal" setup.

thanks

It can get complicated but, typically, if you use DHCP in your LAN,
ideally you could set up your router to handle DNS lookups between
machines on your LAN. If not, it would be ideal to use static ip
addresses and map them to machine names in each machine's hosts file.

If you use DHCP chances are eventually a machine will be assigned a
different ip address and if you have ip addresses in the Renderers
table, and you'll have to change them.
