V5 won't remember preferences

Howdy,
I just installed V5 (and registered online). I make my usual pref changes, close the options and it doesn't retain them including the external monitor (shows device connected but reverts back to none after closing).
Anyone have any ideas as to why it won't keep my settings?

BTW - vidcap displays on the external monitor FWIW

You could try pressing and holding Ctrl-Shift while starting to force the preferences to be reset. If it is some sort of corruption, that may do the trick.

Sounds like the logged in user might not have write access to the registry tree used by Vegas.
