Anyone else having grief doing PTT to a DSR-11 with 6.0b, I'm in PAL land, maybe that's a clue. Issue is Vegas assumes it cannot get deck control which is only a minor pain but a pain none the less. Same everything works just fine in V5.
WOW, Lamont, how did you get it to work? This has been a problem for over 3 months... NO DSR 11 PTT for anyone on the below thread. The Sony Forum admin had everyone fill out system specs, but nothing was ever fixed.
This might not solve your DSR-11 print issue but here's something that has bitten a few people in Vegas 6: you need to specify the print device in preferences as
"OHCI compliant IEEE 1394/DV"
and then invoke the print to tape Wizard. If you have the print device set to Decklink or other...print to DV will not work.
Please confirm you have the pref set as described...
Thanks for the tip. This might be of some help in some cases.
But it's clear, by reading the thread linked to above, that the device pref is already, in most cases of the people that have this problem, set the right way.
Previewing works great, capturing works great, deck control works great, printing to tape works great EXCEPT from the timeline..
Thank God I still had V4..
Checked PTT device, it was OHCI Compliant... but still no OHCI device available for PTT. Then I went to Preview Device and noticed that too was set to OHCI Compliant..., so I set that to None and hey presto PTT works.
Then I needed to capture some video and I was spooling through the tape using VidCap, hit rewind to go back a while in the tape and then hit Play, deck goes into Play but only black and no audio, OK, dud cameraman I thinks but I know there's heaps of stuff on the tape so I rewind it all the way, I know there are B&T at the start but still nought. Major panic so i quite VidCap and restart it, THEN all works, tape isn't all black, what happened there I wonder?
Seems to me things got very flaky ever since I installed the Decklink card, Windows and / or Vegas seem to be having a hard time working out which is what when it comes to having two video devices. I can always gain access to the Decklink card, it sends a nice splash screen saying nothing connected but the 1394 I/O sure isn't as reliable as it used to be. Once I get it going it's rock solid, just getting the connection seems to be the problem.
Bob.
I do NOT have a Decklink Card installed. My Print Device is set to OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394/DV. It works in both Crash & Manual for me. Including Color Bars & 1KHz sound. (knock on wood)
