V6 & Frameserver

Just wondering, has anyone tried using the (debugmode) frameserver with Vegas 6? Any luck with that? Mine always pops out a dialog box, "Unable to create signpost AVI file. Please close any applications that may be using this file and try again." That's regardless any settings I use RGB24, 32, or YUY. Any suggestions what can be done to work around this?

I think there is an update from Debugmode but not sure.

I tried it once, it was too slow for me to use going from V6 into DVDA3.

Frameserving from 6.0 works fine. This plug-in rocks when you're short on space and working with a lot of material. I frameserved a medical conference recently to CCE without problems. Have you tried changing filenames/directories? Could be a permissions problem as well.

Hmm.. I've tried it in a lot different ways to no avail. But again, I only tried it once in Vegas 5 so I might have forgotten to set up something here. I tried to uninstall and reinstall it after my installation of V6. Still the same. What permission should I pay attention to? The directory I'm using for signpost.avi or the file itself?

Can anyone help on this? Or Satish, if you read this, do you have any suggestion how to resolve this? Thanks.

note - back up your registry first if you need to restore it ..

some things to try in the meantime:

1. Open up regedit
2. Goto HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shellex\PropertyHandler
3. Delete the "Default" value which should be "{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}"

Please not that this will no longer provide you with the windows properties displaying the AVI file information such as width, height, bitrate etc.

NOTE: Please use caution when using regedit. Improper usage may cause windows to behave imcorrectly. Also, I cannot be held resposible. Backup your registry first.

I just tried frameserving from V-6; no issues (it had been a while since I tried it).

Render as: PluginPac FrameServer (*.avi)
Template: Default

I put the file on my desktop; the FrameServer engine started; I imported the file from the desktop into the other application and it worked fine. I had not re-installed any of Satish's plugins upon installing V-6; so it picked it up from my previous install.
