I'm rendering a DV project on my new system. This system has given me nothing but problems so I'm not sure if it's a Vegas prob or system prob. What leads me to believe that it's a Vegas prob is the fact that it hangs at the same spot 39%. Renders fine to that point then stops at 39% but the timer keeps counting down. When it reaches 0 the elapsed time continues counting up but nothing happens. When I check cpu performance, all four cores are operating at 0% and PF utilization is about 1.5 gig. Are there any obvious system setting I'm overlooking? I've never had a problem with renders prior to this new system but if it's the system, why hang at same spot? I've checked the timeline for anything unusal but I'm at a loss. System settings? Bad Ram? (I've had numerous power offs and crashed on different apps). I even upgraded the power supply because my consumption calculated higher than the supply I was using....still get crashes.
System specs:
Windows XP sp2
Asus Striker Extreme Mobo
NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500
Intel Core2 Quad @ 2.4GHz
1 TB RAID 0
4 Gigs ram (XP is recognizing 3.25 according to sys spec)
UPDATE:
The only success I'm having is by rendering small chunks at a time. Otherwise it just hangs again. Been able to stitch two AVIs together and render to one long AVI but rendering a whole VEG to AVI isn't happening. Yesterday I was able to render a 30+ gig AVI to MPEG2 without a hitch.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE:
I found some gigantic PNGs (40+megs each) on my timeline. Don't know how I let them get there in that condition but that seemed to be the problem. Recompressed them all and the AVI rendered fine. Man that's a load off my mind.
