V6 test spin

Well, I finally got V6 to install after all the .NET stuff. So I gave it a test spin. The first thing I did is take my most recent V5 project and open it in V6. Everything seemed more or less the same. I checked on CPU and memory use and saw the same CPU use but slightly lower memory use in V6. The next thing I did is to go through all my plugs and replace them all with their VST versions. I did not see any real change in performance here, but I really didn't expect any either.
I use UAD-1 plugs, and in this project I was using aboout 62% UAD in V5. Everything worked the same with the VST versions. Then for fun, I tossed in a few more UAD plugs to get the percentage up to 95%. Works fine, except there is a bug: when the UAD plugins are bypassed in V6, they don't really get bypassed in terms of the number of plugs running and their UAD CPU use. In order to lower the UAD CPU usage, you actually have to remove the plug altogether.
Now it all sounds great fot UAD plugs with VST. But, then here's the kicker: I went back to the V5 version and tossed in all the same additional plugs as I did for V6. Worked just fine also: 95% UAD use with the DX versions. Go figure- no CPU munching on this project!

So my first impression is that there is not too much audio or performance difference than V5. I'll try a few more things once I get the time. Oh, and BTW, I have the media manager turned off. I have no use for this and I would sacrifice performance having it on.

Anyone else bothered to try it?
