Since Sony Creative was unable or unwilling create a video short promoting the new product, we can't tell if it's just tomato juice or something REALLY GOOD.
So, what they might do is pay us to create the ad for them, by underwriting a contest (first of an annual event?).
The demo would be created in the new version (is that obvious...), showing off all the new features, in particular the new titler.
PRIZES:
1st Grand Prize would be an HVR-V1, plus a free upgrade or copy of V8, credited display on their website, as well as shows ala NAB2008.
2nd Great Prize would be an HDR-FX7, plus a free copy of V8
etc etc
If they want a lightweight demo, they'll offer lightweight prizes. If they want to show off what it can really do, they'll need to underwrite it accordingly.
Contest ends October 15th, prized awarded October 29th, leaving two days for everyone else to be impressed and buy the upgrade or full version at the intro price.
Criteria: Judging would be based on................
I don't know if it's a good idea or not, I've probably been drinking too much coffee again...
