V8 demo ad CONTEST [??]

Since Sony Creative was unable or unwilling create a video short promoting the new product, we can't tell if it's just tomato juice or something REALLY GOOD.

So, what they might do is pay us to create the ad for them, by underwriting a contest (first of an annual event?).

The demo would be created in the new version (is that obvious...), showing off all the new features, in particular the new titler.

PRIZES:
1st Grand Prize would be an HVR-V1, plus a free upgrade or copy of V8, credited display on their website, as well as shows ala NAB2008.

2nd Great Prize would be an HDR-FX7, plus a free copy of V8
etc etc

If they want a lightweight demo, they'll offer lightweight prizes. If they want to show off what it can really do, they'll need to underwrite it accordingly.

Contest ends October 15th, prized awarded October 29th, leaving two days for everyone else to be impressed and buy the upgrade or full version at the intro price.

Criteria: Judging would be based on................

I don't know if it's a good idea or not, I've probably been drinking too much coffee again...

Dunno about a Vegas ad contest, but you'll be seeing a ProType Title contest from VASST in a short bit of time, with some fun/good prizes.

what are you talking about? A contest that's going on or one you'd like? The contest on the main sony site & the forum locked post is abotu a PSA that ends 1/11/08. I haven't seen any other contest.

they don't need a trailer to show what it does. It's a free unlimited (minus mpeg/ac3 encoding) trial.

Don't know about the V1(U, E or P) but the local roadshow is giving away a free PMW-EX1 just for turning up. I can tell you, my wife, all my relatives, even my deceased dog is signed up.
Heck if I win the thing I'll do a free ad shot with the camera AND edited with V8.
Hm, also signed up for a chance to go to Perth for the Red Bull Air race and get a fly in one of those planes (paper bags included), damn though they don't have V8 engines....well at least the camera should work OK at 6G, even if me gets a head clog.
