Preview Window"

Right Click on Trimmer Event > NEW "Show Video . . . "

I can understand not wanting to update the Main Preview window, sure, but apart from seeing the staccato "frames" in Trimmer, how can I make use of this?

Wanting to learn ..

A solution in search of a problem!

From what I can see in that mode I cannot Play the trimmer T/L either, only scrub it.

So I guess this gets us close to how other apps do it. It doesn't help Time the cut, it might help visually match the cut but for that I've found the split screen preview the most usefull.

Hope I've understood the question.

LOL!! Yes you did.

And yes, you've come to the same conclusion as I.

What I would appreciate is the Event<>Event border Ctrl+Alt DRAG worked in conjunction WITH the Trimmer.

Can you imagine:

1/- Cursor at point in Timeline

2/- Ctrl+Alt drag within Trimmer

3/- Split Screen of Timeline+Trimmer!

The Trimmer Show/No-Show in Preview is getting, kinda very close to it, but not quite!

Well I'm not much of a trimmer kind of guy. Only time I've really used it is when I had a clients EDL or shotlist. As a creative tool I've always felt it kind of just didn't work for me.

See once I've got clips on the T/L I've not found much use for the trimmer, I just work on the T/L, I can ctl+alt drag there but I can see where if you're looking for another clip to match into where you're at your idea would work.

Hm, yeah, now I can see your problem with how it's working. The two screens aren't even next to one another, that's a pain too, maybe that's where the split screen thing would work better for you.
