V8 Preview Monitor - New Behavior?

HERE's Another preview related quirk. The "Full" screen options (i.e. Preview Full, Best Full, etc) don't react as they did in V7. In V7 when I selected any "Full" option the preview screen would show whatever portion of the FULL screen it could which would usually result in a very zoomed in view of the frame.

In V8, at least for me, the "Full" option has only the effect as though I switched from preview to Best... in other words, none of the zooming, just a bit better picture in the same preview screen. Is this normal? If so, it's no good for me because if I want to preview a portion of a full HD video I can never make my preview screen big enough due to my monitor size.

Right-click in the Preview window and enable or disable "Scale Video to fit Preview Window".
This should give you the viewing options you're looking for.

Hi,

And hopefully SCS adds the much anticipated scoll bars. Would be so useful whenever you view the prieview without scaling. Such a small addition would be VERY useful (and easy to implement?!), and many others have also begged for it...

Just to mention ONE example: I need to visually sync audio with video, looking at a drummer in a wide shot video of a bigband. He is sitting at lower left. There is NO way I can make him visible at full size, since the screen always only shows the center of the video... Scaling the video so that it fits makes him so small that it is really hard to see his gestures that I use for syncing... Scroll bars would have solved it elegantly... Please SCS!!!

Okay, if they're going to do scroll bars then they should also do a key combo. Place your mouse over the preview window, press spacebar and mouse key, and drag the view where you want it. Just like Photoshop. Faster and simpler than scroll bars.

Hi, nobody SAID that the would to it... A key combo is also welcome. The scroll bars are standard windows items, when they pop up (in the case the scaling is off and the preview does not fit), they indicate clearly that the image can be moved, albeit they take some space. Anyhow, in that situation the picture does not fit in the first place, even without the scroll bars... So I wote for both! But it just might be wishful thinking to find this feature added in Vegas 9... There are more important fixes that are really bothering everyday work, but it would be neat to see this added...
