V8C and 8.1 locks up when selecting project media.

I was going to save a project (with media) created in V8a that I opened in 8.1 (on my new Vista 64 machine) and when selecting project media to (first delete unused media) I kept getting "not responding".
So I was thinking maybe it was due to the fact that the project was created on a 32 bit XP machine so I figured I'd install 8C but I got the same result.
Any idea as to why?

From the README for 8.1:
You can open Vegas 8.1 projects in Vegas 8.0c and vice-versa.

I'd suggest opening the 8.0a project in 8.0c, save it there, and then open it in 8.1.

Thank you...there was a bunch of problems I was having and apparently it wasn't a Vegas issue cuz I reformatted and all is well now.
