Installed V8Pro today as well and am getting pretty much the same memory error message (but nothing regarding the .NET framework).

Suggestions?

Just wanted to chime in and mention that I too get the memory error on exit... without mention of .NET.

I get a "memory could not be read error" on my laptop.

The instruction at "0x02cf2fa9" referenced memory at "0x025922d0". The memory could not be read.

The instruction location changes every time, but the memory reference stays the same.

This doesn't happen on my QX6700 desktop. I have other issues with it.

I have been trying all day to render a 4.5 minute HDV project. Every shot in it has been color corrected and a few clips have been slowed down. It also has a Magic Bullet look applied to the entire thing. I set the project to 32-bit float and try to render out to the new Sony 10-bit YUV codec. It gets a ways into it and all of a sudden the memory usage shoots up to 4 gig and it stops processing the render. I removed the Magic Bullet effect and tried another render. The entire project is cuts-only except for one short dissolve in the middle. The render goes fine until it hits the one dissolve and then Vegas crashes hard with an error in "sftrans1.dll", which is the Sony Transition Video Plugin. v1.0.0.1817

Oh well, I'll report it to Sony and they'll get it ironed out. I can use v7 until then.

Well, that makes five (and counting) of us with this memory error message thing so far....a V8Pro user reported receiving the error message in another thread. I can't imagine that we all have the same, or even similar, h/w and/or s/w configurations so it looks like "wait for the next build".

I also tried installing V8Pro on a spare machine and got the same error message after closing the application. Funny thing is I haven't seen anyone report getting this message when running the program under Vista.

EDIT: Another anomaly (or more likely related to the error message) is that "vegas80.exe" appears in Task Manager after closing the program and clicking "End Process" does absolutely nothing.

This error has been reported for weeks now in the Vegas Movie Studio forum. Seems the problem isn't there in the original 8 VMS release but appeared in a later update (a?). Definitely sounds like a recently introduced bug.

The thread that Paul Mead is talking about is possibly this one:

I too received an error upon exiting Vegas Pro 8. The error message was from Vista saying a program ended unexpected and may require administrative rights. Then the pop up asked me if everything ended correctly. I picked yes and I don't get the error upon exiting Vegas Pro 8 anymore.
