V9/64 AVCHD only 3 thumbnails/clip on timeline

I have just installed v9 64 and loaded a 4,19 GB MTS file after match media setting in proj properties.
Prieview smooth in best/full
BUT
There is just 3 thumbnails in the clip (34 minutes).
One thumbnail in the beginning one in the middle and one at the end and no difference when zooming in.
If I split the clip in half both clips get 3 thumbnails
if I split those two clips in half i get 3 thumbnails each
and sofort.
Its hard to edit with just 3 thumbnails in every clip.
When i preview there´s no problem every single frame runs in the preview window and no stutter even in best/full.
Anyone tested native AVCHD yet?

That's how mine are too.

It's the new default.
Go to 'Options' > 'Preferences' > 'Video' > 'Thumbnails to show ...' and pick your choice.

Thanks Tom! I like the old way of looking at thumbnails better. The new way has kinda annoying too bright white edges on the events for me. Much cleaner look when you choose "all" IMO.

Me too. I haven't set it back yet, but likely will. :-)

I believe reduced thumbnail images can help with memory handling issues, so that might be a reason for it?

The option has been there for a while to set a Thumbnail at the Head, Head/Center/End, or All.
Depending on what type of project I'm editing and what type and how much footage I'm using... I'll swap it up.
