v9 Freezes on Startup

I tried reverting back to v9 from v9a on one of my workstations and now Vegas won't open!
It FREEZEs at 'Creating Window Layout' everytime. No matter if I open a Project or just an instance of Vegas. I left it running all night hoping that it would be open in the morning... nothing!

Has anyone else dealt w/ Vegas freezing on startup?
What were the fixes?

I'm a true fan since the early days but this release of Vegas has really been a disappointment for me.

It's been happening to us as well... actually, now it crashes the first time you load the software. Then once you open it a second time, it works 'fine' (as fine as 9.0 ever does). Only solution to the freeze at startup was to completely remove everything Sony related, and re-install and then it won't freeze, it just crashes at start up the first time.

Oh happy day.

Whoa... you serious?
EVERYTHING Sony related? (Vegas, Acid, SoundForge, Cinescore, & all Plug Ins?)
I definitely won't be doing that. My other NLE's depend on the same Plug In packages. They ain't broke, so I ain't fixin' 'em.

I'm so over it.
Vegas used to be my favorite NLE but now it's gone down way too far for me to even consider starting projects in. All of my recent projects have gone to Premiere, FCP, &/or Media Composer. I'm dreading the day that I need to update a Vegas project and it won't open.

Although Vegas is running well on my Laptop... I don't dare touch it after being hit by the Text & Startup errors; but don't worry, I'll still hang around the forums and complain.
