Calm down there Old Fart or you'll fry the few brain cells you have left :-)
From a post by YesMaestro yesterday:
I also saw that under Preferences, the Show Video Progress While Rendering is no longer there, so it will show the progress unless you go into the internal settings and change it.
BTW, it's Options - Shift+click - Preferences to get to the internal prefs.
edit: you have to do the same thing to get rid of the splash screen (thanks Rosebud).
You can find it in internal preferences in the “Display” tab (set “Hide logo splash screen on start up” to TRUE).
At a rough guess i'd say that having the preview on may slow your render down somewhere around 1% or less. I've never noticed any significant difference in rendering speed between having it on or off.
mike, i repeat, i HATE learning new stuff - i'm past 60 now and the few brain cells i do have left i need for figuring out the plot of the simpsons......
chien. thanks for that. if it's so low i'll leave it on, then i'll have a visual reference as to whether it's hung or doing a nasty bit....
btw. while i have both of yours attention - i posted it under it's own thread but got no response:
i don't understand how to get firewire and secondary monitor to work - in fact, i can't get anything (hdv) out over firewire (cap hdv is no problem)? did i misread the release notes?
can i monitor on lcd and firewire at the same time?
