V9 Two Problems

bdg wrote on 5/11/2009, 11:30 PM
1) How do I turn the splash screen off?
It is hiding an error from my MOTU Traveller (which is normally in my recording studio not here in editing), so I cannot click the MOTU error to turn it off. Meanwhile back at the ranch V9 is hung waiting for audio which it will not get until the MOTU error report is cleared.
I got on to Vegas once by doing a ctrl/alt/del and killing an error report thingie in the long list of things windoze thinks it needs, but when I got in to V9 I couldn't find an option to kill the splash screen in the usual place in preferences.
2) How do I get the old setup with the preview window at the bottom together with the master faders etc?
Again there was an option for this in V8 but I can't find it in 9.

1/ You can find it in internal preferences (set “Hide logo splash screen on start up” to TRUE).

2/ In the “Display” tab.

Ahh dear me. It's now the next day, by five minutes.
Just looked but there is no "internal preferences" tab in V9 that I can find and Help is (of course) absolutely no help at all.
If I remember correctly there is a key combo I can press at start up to get to some hidden preferences. That must be what you are talking about.
Naturally I do not remember the combo.
Of course once the magic combination is revealed to me I must still perform it while struggling to get V9 to boot.

Anyone know the magic key code?
Taa Muchly and Asante Sana in advance...

To access the internal tab....
Hold down the shift key while you select preferences.

Lovely, thanks.

I used SHIFT+Click "Preferences," but got no Internal tab in V9. Got it in previous versions. Is it actually available in V9? (using 64-bit, in case that matters...)

I am seeing the Internal tab when using 64-bit Vegas v9.0 under Vista.

How curious that I cannot access the "Internal" tab for preferences in V9 64-bit via SHIFT+Click on "Preferences"...

Given that I've also been unable to render any content (program simply crashes when renders attempted), I suppose there is some larger problem I must solve.
